Classic Brothers are dead
We’ve been off the radar. No new releases since 2016, no posts here or elsewhere. I had to take care of my sick mom. She passed away late 2020. And then there were inner hurdles to overcome. Big ones. Nothing I did in the studio was good enough. Or so I thought. I wanted to get better so desperately, that my inner critic shot down everything I did. Even the dope stuff.
On top of it all our distributor made an error that deleted all of our popular tracks on SoundCloud. Tracks like Flor, Bam and Flaunt It Like A Rock Star that so many of you have had in their playlists suddenly got deleted without explanation. For us this meant our musical résumé got destroyed. BAM almost reached 74000 plays in a short period of time, Flor almost 31000. For small artists like us that release our own music, that’s a lot. And what feels even worse: your access to these tracks was cut off. Months of my time I’ve spent talking to SoundCloud and our distributor Indigoboom. SoundCloud has been of great assistance to help us out, but action should have been undertaken by our distributor. Although they’ve assured us to fix the issue on several occasions, they didn’t resolve the matter at all.
So Classic Brothers are NO MORE.
The good news is we’ve improved ourselves and there is a bunch of new material waiting to see the daylight. Right now we’re reaching out to our favourite record label to see if they want to get involved and walk this journey together with us. We’ll present a new, “reborn” us here, soon. In the meantime: thanks for all the love you gave to us and our music.
Much love, Merlin.
